Touch therapy for children with Autism or Sensory Processing Disorder
Does your child need a little extra care and help with things most people take for granted? The "normals" in life aren't so "normal" for your child? Do they have a sensory overload from walking down a busy street? At the mall? In school? Or, on the other hand, have an inability to feel hot or cold substances on their skin? Do they need empowerment to be in control of their own emotions and self-soothe or self-regulate? This type of Touch Therapy might be what your child (and you) need.
Each 30 minute session is tailored uniquely to your child and their wants and needs at that particular time. A blend of massage, touch therapy, occupational therapy and physical movement will be involved.

Story Massage
A fun and interactive way for children to receive a massage or touch therapy treatment! This form of massage is aimed at preschool - Grade 1 children (ages 3-7) who have ADHD. Massage can help decrease the 'stress hormone' (Cortisol) and release the 'feel good' hormone (Oxytocin) plus the added benefit of storytelling encourages the child's imagination during the massage. This helps keep the little minds busy and connected to the treatment. I also teach the child to use certain techniques to help them self-regulate during stressful moments.

Baby Massage
Integrating massage into the parent/child relationship offers another way for parents to get to know and understand their baby. It can help to stimulate development, aid in brain/neural connections and help with relaxation for both parent and baby. Baby massage offers the opportunity to communicate to babies the emotions of love, security, trust, comfort, and support. It allows a greater understanding of a baby’s subtle non-verbal language and develops a parent’s ability to listen and observe their baby.

Hot Stone Therapy
Hot Stone Therapy has become increasingly popular in recent years. It incorporates the use of hot basalt stones into traditional massage techniques.

These stones provide heat therapy to the muscles, which can help reduce tension and pain... plus it feels good too!!
Myofascial Cupping
Myofascial Cupping is the use of silicone or plastic cups to release adhesions within the layers of the body’s fascia.
Both cups use a change in pressure to create suction and lift the layers of tissue’s in a way that reduces adhesions and increases movement and blood flow.
I like to combine the use of hot stones and cupping into my massage treatments as I've witnessed these working well together.
